Basically the shape of vastu should be square or rectangular . But these days to improve the front elevation of the building a number of design features are incorporated . This leads to an interruption in the square  or rectangular shape where some portion is removed . They are called as “ cuts “ in architectural science . This causes an interruption of the energy  waves and results in defects .    

  
            A cut any direction of vastu is not proper and leads to defects .Cuts in various direction cause different defects , bad incidents and happenings .
