Today by the term home , we generally mean a two or three room selfcontained unit . The idea of this type of dwelling has become common and accepted in both the urban and rural setting . At the same time , individual houses and apartment complexes have also become common . Today the ides of how a house should be build that our ancient sages profounded , have not been followed and there is a great deal of difference between the modern and ancient thought . Therefore , the aim of vastushastra is to harmonise the ancient and the modern concepts . While buying a flat one must see that the maximum number of positive points are available . If the shell of building has already been constructed then the internal layout can be designed to confirm vastu principles and the remaining negative aspects can be removed by remedial measures . If the plan for a house or any commercial building is made by an architect in consultation with a vastu specialist , the maximum number of positive points can be incorporated . If the builder puts up a sign or hoarding outside the project to say that project as per vastushastra then it will elicit good response and a large number of flat will be sold quickly . Of – course one has to ensure that this is not a mere publicity stunt and that vastushastra has really been followed . ( 1 ) Selection Of Land This aspect has been discussed in detail in the last chapter . The shape of plot , the surrounding area and atmosphere , approsch roads , the direction of entry into the plot , increase or cuts in the land , T – junctions , and the bad elements of plot are summsrised below .
( 2 ) Location of the House ( vastu ) within the plot The plot should be square or rectangular , so that it become easy to demarcate the eight direction properly . The proposed vastu should be planned in South West corner , leaving a minimum amount of space on the west and south boundaries , with a minimum numbers of doors and windows facing south and west . This will also mean that maximum space and number of doors and windows are in North and East .
( 3 ) Compound Gate
The compound gate is called First entrance . Both Are Equally important . However , approach road to plot decides position of the entrance gate and also there are many flat owners in a single building who give secondry importance to entrance gate . If there are roads on all four main directions of plot , the gate should be in the middle of each side . There are five auspicious entrance applicable universally , namely East , North , North – east , South of South - east and West of North – West . There should be two gates , one large and one small . Generally these gates should be in the positive direction . If both the gates cannot be accommodated , then at least one should be in a positive place . |
